As a supporting association of the Mobility World Congress the 3GPP2 has obtained a 15% discount on the congress price for all its members. The Mobility World Congress is Asia's premier conference for the mobile and wireless industries. Taking place from the 3-6 December it welcomes over 150 speakers from 40 countries including 50 presenters from telecom operators.

This four day event features two afternoons of keynote sessions, six congress tracks, three co-located events, two special interest seminars and six interactive workshops - truly a 'week in wireless'.

Of particular interest to our members is the keynote session on the afternoon of the 5 December. This high level session will provide key directions in next-generation networks and technology architectures. Recognizing that emerging markets, many of which are in Asia, will be the driver for industry growth, this keynote session will focus on opportunities with low cost networks and ultra low cost wireless devices to access new markets and revenue streams helping the industry take a step closer to true global mobility.

On top of this keynote session 3GPP2 members should also be interested in two of the tracks at the event. Congress Track A on Mobile Broadband Deployments focuses on everything from WiMAX, EV-DO and TD-SCDMA trial updates. This interesting session features speakers from Telstra, Far EasTone Telecommunications, Telenor Nordic Mobile and the GSA.

Congress Track D on Network Evolution takes place on the morning of the 5 December and features Adrian Scrase from ETSI as one of its speakers. Joining him will be representatives from MTN, BT Global Services, SK Telecom and Fon.
